Rebecca will be joining the Schola of St. Michael’s College for a special concert of chant selections accompanying spoken excerpts from Dante’s Purgatorio, from the early 14th century.

Dante very deliberately structured the musical elements throughout the Commedia. In Purgatorio, specific pieces of liturgical chant are integrated into the process of penance and renewal. We are preparing a meditative sequence of music and commentary which will include performances of liturgical chants, together with commentary and quotations from the verse in Italian and English.
